SafetyLine Earns Recognition from Canada's Safety Community in 2026 Readers' Choice Awards

SafetyLine has been named a 2026 Readers’ Choice Award winner by Canadian Occupational Safety in the Lone Worker Monitoring category. This recognition is especially meaningful because the awards are determined by votes from occupational health and safety professionals across Canada. From May 11 to June 5, 2026, Canadian Occupational Safety magazine surveyed safety leaders across the country to identify the safety technologies and suppliers that provide real value and perform when it matters most.

What are the Canadian Occupational Safety Readers’ Choice Awards?

The Canadian Occupational Safety – or COS – Readers’ Choice Awards are an annual recognition that honors the country’s top safety suppliers, vendors, and service providers in workplace health and safety. Beginning in 2016, these awards have evolved into an impressive list of categories, including technology, training, PPE, facility safety, and emergency management.

SafetyLine recognized in the Lone Worker Monitoring category

SafetyLine Lone Worker was recognized as a leading lone worker monitoring technology provider in Canada in the 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.

This reader-voted recognition reflects the confidence safety professionals place in SafetyLine to help protect employees who work alone, respond to emergencies, and support safer workplaces.

Why recognition from OHS professionals' matters

This recognition is particularly important because the votes come from OHS professionals who understand what it takes to ensure lone worker safety. Truly effective lone worker safety must work in the real workplace, not just on paper; these OHS professionals are using and evaluating safety technologies in real-world settings. Additionally, COS Magazine places greater emphasis on evaluating safety suppliers based on overall value, reliability, and adaptability rather than price or financial cost.

What effective lone worker monitoring must address

Recognition from safety professionals reflects the industry's growing focus on lone worker monitoring solutions that go beyond basic check-ins. Effective lone worker safety programs require technology and processes that help organizations respond to real-world emergencies, changing work environments, and communication challenges.

While cost is important, it isn’t the most essential factor to consider an effective lone worker monitoring program.

Missed check-ins

Effective lone worker monitoring must have a defined escalation process when a lone worker doesn’t respond or can’t be located.

Changing working conditions

The work environment can change quickly, and a hazard assessment at the start of a shift may not accurately reflect conditions later in the day. Lone worker monitoring and protocols need to accommodate changing locations, risks, and tasks.

Communication and escalation

Lone worker monitoring is ineffective without a reliable and clear communication response process. Lone workers and managers need to know what exactly takes place when a check-in is missed by coworkers or an emergency alert is triggered.
